Can I pay with Bitcoin Lightning?

eSIMwithCrypto accepts on-chain Bitcoin only. Its payment page shows a Bitcoin address rather than a Lightning invoice. If Lightning is essential, Bitrefill’s official payment help lists it alongside on-chain Bitcoin (checked 15 October 2026). Compare other options in the crypto acceptance matrix.

For supported alternatives here, SOL and USDT on Tron (TRC-20) usually confirm in about 1 minute. Network congestion and exchange withdrawal processing can extend that time.

How do I buy an eSIM with Bitcoin, step by step?

Six steps, from choosing a plan to the eSIM on your phone.

  1. Choose your eSIM

Find your destination on the destinations page or the pricing page. Prices are in US dollars.

  2. Pick BTC at checkout

Choose Bitcoin as the coin. The payment page converts the dollar price of your order into BTC, with no minimum, and locks the amount and the rate for 30 minutes.

  3. Set a fee rate that fits the demand

In your wallet, choose a fee rate in sat/vB. mempool.space shows the current estimates, from low to high priority.

  4. Send the exact amount on-chain

Send the exact BTC amount to the address shown, in one transfer. From an exchange, choose the Bitcoin network, not Lightning.

  5. Click “I’ve sent the payment” and wait

Your payment is matched by its exact amount. After 2 confirmations, usually about 20 minutes, the eSIM is bought and its QR code appears in My eSIMs.

  6. Install the eSIM

Install it on Wi-Fi with the QR code in My eSIMs, or with a one-tap install button on iPhone with iOS 17.4 or later. Turn on the line and data roaming when you land.

How long does a Bitcoin payment take?

Usually about 20 minutes. eSIMwithCrypto accepts a BTC payment after 2 confirmations. A transaction with a low fee rate can wait longer before its first confirmation, when many transactions compete for block space.

Then the eSIM is bought, and its QR code appears in My eSIMs, usually a few minutes after the payment is confirmed on the blockchain. An exchange can also take time to send a withdrawal, so start it soon after you open the payment page.

Confirmations, fees and wrong-network errors in one place: Bitcoin eSIM payment.

How do I choose the Bitcoin fee?

Choose a fee rate in satoshis per virtual byte (sat/vB). The fee depends on the size of your transaction and on demand for block space, not on the amount you send. A higher rate is usually confirmed sooner.

We have not measured Bitcoin fees, so we give no figure. Check mempool.space just before you send: it shows fee estimates from low to high priority. A wallet that spends many small coins builds a larger transaction, which costs more. Full breakdown: what a crypto payment really costs.

What if my Bitcoin transaction is stuck?

Raise the fee with Replace-by-Fee (RBF), if your wallet supports it. RBF replaces an unconfirmed transaction with a new one that pays a higher fee rate and a higher total fee. Keep the amount sent to us exactly the same: your payment is matched by that amount.

If your wallet has no RBF, wait. The transaction is confirmed when its fee rate becomes competitive again; if it is never confirmed, the coins stay in your wallet. If it is confirmed after the 30-minute window, follow the instructions in the client area, and do not send a second payment.

Is Bitcoin a good choice for a cheap eSIM?

It works, but think about the fee. You pay the exact price of the eSIM, and the network fee comes on top, paid by you. A Bitcoin fee does not shrink with the amount, so on a very small order it can be large compared with the price. We have not measured it: check mempool.space first.

Two ways to keep it low. First, put several eSIMs in one order, so that one transfer pays for all of them: the cart allows up to 10 different plans per order, and up to 10 eSIMs of each plan. Second, if you also hold stablecoins, compare the fee of USDT on Tron (TRC-20), which is usually confirmed in about 1 minute. Every coin: pay with crypto.

What else should I know before buying?

Can I pay for an eSIM with Bitcoin Lightning?

No. eSIMwithCrypto accepts on-chain Bitcoin only, credited after 2 confirmations, usually in about 20 minutes. The payment page shows a Bitcoin address, not a Lightning invoice. For a fast payment, SOL and USDT on Tron (TRC-20) are usually credited in about 1 minute.

How many confirmations does a Bitcoin eSIM payment need?

Two. eSIMwithCrypto accepts a BTC payment after 2 confirmations on the Bitcoin network, usually in about 20 minutes. A low fee rate can make the first confirmation take longer. Then the eSIM is bought and its QR code appears in My eSIMs.

Does the BTC price change while I pay?

Not for 30 minutes. Prices are in US dollars: the payment page converts the price into BTC, then locks the amount and the rate. Send the exact amount within that time. Once the payment is confirmed, the order is paid in full, and later moves of the BTC price do not change it.

Can I use Replace-by-Fee (RBF) to speed up my payment?

Yes, if your wallet supports it. RBF replaces your unconfirmed transaction with one that pays a higher fee. Keep the amount sent to us exactly the same, because your payment is matched by that exact amount. The extra fee must come from your change, not from the payment.

Which eSIM sellers accept Bitcoin Lightning?

As of October 9, 2026, Silent.link, Bitrefill, PikaSim, nadanada and eSIM-Now state that they accept Lightning, and Cryptorefills lists it among its networks. eSIMwithCrypto does not: it accepts on-chain Bitcoin, plus USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL and LTC. Every seller: crypto acceptance matrix.

Can I pay with Bitcoin from an exchange?

Yes, with a normal on-chain withdrawal on the Bitcoin network. Do not choose Lightning or a BTC token on another network. If the exchange deducts its withdrawal fee from the amount, add it. Start the withdrawal soon after you open the payment page: the BTC amount is locked for 30 minutes.

Is a Bitcoin payment for an eSIM private?

Partly. The checkout is private, but Bitcoin is a public blockchain: anyone can see the transaction and the addresses. eSIMwithCrypto asks for no ID, no selfie and no documents. The local mobile network still sees your device and its approximate location, and an eSIM does not encrypt your traffic.

What is the minimum Bitcoin payment?

There is none. At eSIMwithCrypto, you pay the exact price of your order in crypto, with no minimum and no top-up. eSIMs start at $0.89. The network fee comes on top and does not shrink with the amount, so on a very small order it can be large compared with the price. Check mempool.space before you send, or put several eSIMs in one order.
