What are the steps to buy and use an eSIM with crypto?
Steps 1 to 6 take a few minutes at home. The only wait is the blockchain confirmation of your payment.
Check your phone
Your phone must support eSIM and not be locked to a carrier. Dial *#06#: an EID number means eSIM is supported. On iPhone, Settings › General › About › Carrier Lock must say No SIM restrictions.
Choose a plan
Find your destination, then pick the data and the validity. A local plan covers one country; the Europe eSIM and the Global eSIM cover several. Every plan is data only. All prices: eSIM prices.
Choose the coin and the network
At checkout, you pay the exact price of your order in crypto, with no minimum and no top-up. Pick the coin and the network your wallet or exchange will send from. The payment page then shows the exact crypto amount of your order, our address with its QR code, and a 30-minute countdown.
Send the exact amount on the exact network
Send that exact amount in one transfer, to the address shown. Then click I've sent the payment: no transaction ID to paste. USDT on TRC-20 is not USDT on ERC-20: funds sent on another network or in another coin may be lost.
Wait for the confirmations
Your payment is confirmed after the network confirmations. Usual times: about 1 minute for SOL and USDT TRC-20, 5 minutes for ETH and ERC-20 tokens, 15 minutes for LTC and 20 minutes for BTC. You can close the page: the payment is matched to your order by its exact amount, and the eSIM is then bought.
Get your eSIM in My eSIMs
My eSIMs shows the QR code, the SM-DP+ address, the activation code and the full activation code, usually a few minutes after the payment is confirmed on the blockchain. On an iPhone with iOS 17.4 or later, an Install on this iPhone button installs it in one tap.
Install it on Wi-Fi before you leave
Scan the QR code from another screen, or enter the codes by hand. Installing early does not use up any validity: the validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a network in your destination. Do not delete the eSIM afterwards.
Turn it on when you land
Select the eSIM for mobile data and allow data roaming for it. Keep your usual SIM on for calls and texts: the eSIM carries the data.
How does the crypto payment work?
Prices are in US dollars and the same on every coin and network. The crypto amount of your order is calculated when you pay and locked for 30 minutes. The network fee comes on top and goes to the blockchain.
Pay the exact price of your order
There is no minimum and no balance to fund. The cart allows up to 10 different plans per order, and up to 10 eSIMs of each plan. Choose the coin (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC) and the network: the payment page shows the exact crypto amount, locked for 30 minutes, with a countdown. Credits on your balance, if any, are used first.
Send it to the address shown, on the exact network
The payment page shows our address for the coin and network you picked, with its QR code: BTC on Bitcoin, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana, LTC on Litecoin. Send only that coin on that network: funds sent on another network or in another coin can’t be recovered. The network fee comes on top of the price.
Send the exact amount in one transfer, then click “I’ve sent the payment”
Each order has its own exact amount, down to the last decimals: that is how we find your payment and link it to your order.
Wait for the network confirmations
Your payment is confirmed once the network has confirmed the transaction. Usual times:
Crypto Network Confirmations Usual time BTC Bitcoin 2 ≈ 20 min USDT Tron (TRC-20) 20 ≈ 1 min USDT Ethereum (ERC-20) 12 ≈ 5 min USDC Ethereum (ERC-20) 12 ≈ 5 min ETH Ethereum 12 ≈ 5 min SOL Solana 1 ≈ 1 min LTC Litecoin 6 ≈ 15 min Your eSIM appears in My eSIMs
Once the payment is checked, the eSIM is bought and its QR code appears in My eSIMs, usually a few minutes after the payment is confirmed on the blockchain. Install it on Wi-Fi before you leave.
Closed the tab? The pending payment stays in your account: open it to see the address and the exact amount again.
What do I receive after payment?
Each eSIM comes with its own QR code and activation details, shown in My eSIMs usually a few minutes after the payment is confirmed on the blockchain. You get four ways to install it, so you can use whichever suits your phone. Keep these codes private: whoever installs them first uses your data.
| What you get | How to use it | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| QR code | Show it on another screen, then scan it with the phone that will use the eSIM | Any eSIM phone, when you have a second screen |
| Install on this iPhone button | Tap it on the iPhone itself: it opens the eSIM setup in Settings | iPhone with iOS 17.4 or later, with no second screen |
| SM-DP+ address and activation code | Type both by hand in the phone's eSIM settings | iPhone (Enter Details Manually) or any phone, without a camera scan |
| Full activation code | Paste it as it is, in the LPA:1$… format | Android phones: Enter code manually or Enter activation code |
How do I install the eSIM once it is paid?
Connect to Wi-Fi first, then follow the path for your phone. Menu names change slightly between models and system versions.
- iPhone: Settings › Mobile Service (or Cellular, or Mobile Data) › Add eSIM › Use QR Code. Or tap Enter Details Manually and type the SM-DP+ address and the activation code. Give the line a name such as Travel.
- Samsung Galaxy: Settings › Connections › SIM manager › Add eSIM › Scan QR code. Or choose Enter activation code and paste the full activation code.
- Google Pixel: Settings › Network & internet › SIMs › Add SIM › Download a SIM instead. Scan the QR code, or tap Need help? › Enter it manually and paste the full activation code.
- Other Android phones: Settings › Network & internet (or Connections) › SIMs › Add eSIM, then scan the QR code or paste the full activation code.
Your iPhone must be on Wi-Fi to download the eSIM, Apple says; in some countries, eSIM-only models can activate without Wi-Fi. Phones by model: eSIM-compatible phones.
Step by step, setting by setting: how to install an eSIM on iPhone and how to install an eSIM on Android.
When should I install the eSIM, and when does the validity start?
Install it at home, on Wi-Fi, before you leave: the validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a network in your destination. Installing early costs no validity, and you avoid looking for Wi-Fi at the airport.
For two destinations, checking restrictions before departure is particularly important:
- China: Apple’s guidance for supported iPhones bought in mainland China restricts installing foreign-carrier eSIMs while the phone is in mainland China. See the China eSIM page.
- Turkey: Turkey's regulator blocked the websites and apps of at least 35 eSIM sellers in July 2025. See the Turkey eSIM page.
More on timing: install a travel eSIM before or after landing?
What do I do when I land?
Turn the eSIM line on, select it for mobile data and allow data roaming for it. The eSIM needs an available roaming network. Partner names have not been confirmed per plan; public local-operator names do not establish roaming access. On iPhone: choose the travel line for mobile data and turn on Data Roaming for it. On Samsung: SIM manager › choose the eSIM for mobile data, then Connections › Mobile networks › Data roaming. On Pixel: open the eSIM in SIMs, then turn on Mobile data and Roaming.
Your usual SIM keeps working for calls and texts, so bank codes and WhatsApp registration stay on your home number. Calls and texts that reach your home line abroad may be charged by your home operator: check its roaming rates.
How do top-ups work?
A top-up adds data without a new eSIM: data top-ups are added to the eSIM already on your phone, with nothing to install again. Open the eSIM in My eSIMs, choose a top-up plan and pay its exact price in crypto, like an eSIM. Credits on your balance, if any, are used first. The data is added once the payment is confirmed. Top-ups are available on the data plans marked Top-up in the price tables.
Why does my data usage not update right away?
Because the network reports usage with a delay: data usage is reported by the network with a delay of up to a few hours. Usage appears in My eSIMs once the eSIM has connected. The status of each eSIM is shown there too: Awaiting payment, Being prepared, Ready to install, Active or Expired. An eSIM becomes Active when it first connects to a network in your destination.
What happens if I delete the eSIM or change phones?
Do not delete it: the QR code works once, on one phone, and a deleted eSIM cannot be installed again. An eSIM cannot be moved to another phone once it is installed. If you do not need the line for a while, turn it off in your phone's settings instead of deleting it.
Before you buy, check that the eSIM is for the phone you will travel with. If you are unsure, write to support before you install: Email replies within 12 hours, 7 days a week, including help with installing and activating your eSIM. Our refund rule: an eSIM that is not installed, or that we cannot deliver, is credited back to your balance; an installed eSIM is not refundable.
What else should I know before buying?
Do I need an account to buy an eSIM with crypto?
You get one, but there is no sign-up form: your account is a 16-digit account number created at payment, with no email needed. Keep that number: it opens My eSIMs, your QR codes and your balance. Email is optional, for receipts, reminders and account recovery. No ID, no selfie and no phone number are needed.
Can I pay for just one cheap plan?
Yes. At checkout, you pay the exact price of your order in crypto, with no minimum and no top-up. A 1 GB plan from $0.89 is paid at its own price. The network fee of your transfer comes on top, and on a very small order it can be large compared with the price. Check the live fee of your network before you send, or put several eSIMs in one order.
I closed the payment page. Is my payment lost?
No. The unpaid order stays in your account: open it again to see the address, the network and the exact amount. If you already sent the payment, it is matched by its exact amount, and the eSIM is bought after the confirmations. Send within the 30-minute countdown shown on the page.
What if I send less than the amount shown?
Avoid it: send the exact amount shown, in one transfer, because your payment is matched to your order by that amount. If your exchange takes its withdrawal fee from the amount, add the fee. If less arrived, or you sent after the 30-minute countdown, write to support with the coin, the network, the amount, the time and the TXID. We find the transaction on the blockchain and tell you what can be done.
What if I send the wrong coin or use the wrong network?
Funds sent in another coin or on another network may be lost: we cannot promise to recover them. USDT goes only on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), and USDC only on Ethereum (ERC-20). Never use BNB Chain, Polygon or a layer-2 network. Check the coin and the network twice before you send.
Can I buy several eSIMs in one order?
Yes: the cart allows up to 10 different plans per order, and up to 10 eSIMs of each plan. Add plans for one or more destinations and pay the total in one transfer, with one network fee. Each eSIM gets its own QR code: one eSIM per phone. For a family trip, install each eSIM on its own phone.
How long does it take to get the QR code?
Usually a few minutes after your payment confirms. The confirmation itself takes about a minute with USDT on Tron or SOL, and about 20 minutes with Bitcoin. My eSIMs refreshes by itself. If the QR code is still missing after an hour, contact support with the order reference.
Does the eSIM give me a phone number?
No. Every plan is data only: no phone number, no SMS and no calls. Keep your usual SIM on as a second line for calls and bank codes. Apps such as WhatsApp, iMessage and FaceTime work over data with your existing account. Read what a data-only eSIM is.
